2012 Marzocchi Gravity Forks

August 2 2011 No Commented

Bologna, July 29th, 2011 – When it comes to gravity mountain biking, we were the first to create a fork that was suited perfectly to all the stress riders were putting it through. We’ve put in our time and with years and years of experience, research and development, blood and sweat, we have come a long way since then. For 2012, we bring you some of the best gravity mountain bike forks on the market that combine minimum weight with maximum performance and durability in a price range that doesn’t break the bank.

888 RC3 EVO Titanium V.2
888 RC3 EVO Titanium V.2 details:

- Left leg: RC3 EVO (Rebound piston V.2, low speed compression adjust, high speed compression shim stack valve, volume adjust)
- Right leg: Coil spring preload
- Spring: 1-side titanium
-Casting: Magnesium with 20mm axle
- Stanchion: 38mm nickel treatment tapered
- Steer tube: Aluminum
- Disc brake: 8” PM (max disc 230mm)
- Weight: 2990g 20mm axle included
- Options: Direct mount stem

We’re particularly proud of our DH flagship, the 888 RC3 EVO TITANIUM. And once you’ve tried it, you’ll know why. We’ve saved weight wherever we could and the result is the lightest coil DH fork in the market! The 888 RC3 EVO TI is only 200g heavier than the lightest air DH forks in the market while offering all the advantages of a coil: stability, reliability and durability and no stress. The upper crown comes with a direct mount feature. We listened closely to our pro riders on the World Cup circuit and were able to tweak our mountain bike forks to perfection with their help and feedback. Speaking of tweaking; the brand new compression piston of this particular fork comes with the option to change shims allowing you to customise your fork to suit your needs. You can really make this fork your own; not approximately, but precisely suited to your needs. For the freeriders among you, the 66 RC3 EVO TITANIUM also offers all these advantages with a suspension that is specifically tuned to your freeriding needs.

Another gem in our gravity world is the CR cartridge for the 888 and 66 mountain bike forks. Thanks to the compensation port, oil management inside your cartridge is more efficient than ever before and you need less oil. The cartridge performance offers a whole new dimension of performance in its category. The same goes for the tapered stanchions that come with these models and have only the exact amount of material they need – not one scrap more. Combined with the rebound and compression adjusters the CR can be serviced easily – even though it barely ever needs to. So whether it’s the RC3 EVO or CR damper, our gravity suspensions will always create the best riding experience for you when gravity calls!

K-9 Industries to sell Obtainium Performance Products

August 18 2009 No Commented

Obtainium springs are made in the USA using high quality aerospace grade titanium (3-8-6-4-4 Beta-C Titanium), and the available spring rates for 3″ stroke shocks rage from 200 Lbs/Inch to 600 Lbs/Inch, in 25 Lbs/Inch increments. K-9 Industries believes that the 25 Lbs/Inch increments allows for better fine tuning of the wheel rates for different riders and bikes. No More Compromises, when choosing a spring rate, why compromise when you can get the right one!

Obtainium Performance Products are the choice of champions, Obtainium Performance Products are currently used by some of the top riders in the world including the Syndicate Team and the Monster Energy Team.

“We are excited to have K-9 as our exclusive distributor in the United Kingdom. Most of our UK customers had to wait forever because of shipping and customs; now they can make a phone call to K-9 and have their bikes ready for their next weekend ride”

Product Detail

Springs
Obtainium springs feature a wide internal diameter (1.5″) that allows the spring to fit some of the most popular dampers in the market including the Cane Creek Double Barrel, the Bos Stoy, the RockShox Vivid, the Marzocchi Roco, the Fox DHX and many more. Spring rate are also available in 3.5″ stroke, so anyone with a Morewood Makulu, Session 10 and Intense M6 can now fit a titanium spring on their bike.

Adapters
In order to ensure that the titanium springs have a proper and secure fit to the damper, Obtainium have designed and manufactured individual Performance Adapters for each damper. The adapters are made out of Delron which has a very low coefficient of friction to increase the spring’s performance and make sure the spring is free to move and won’t bind or buckle.

Bearings
Another exciting and unique product from Obtainium Performance Products is the Trust bearings. The idea is as the spring compresses, it is now free to rotate and as a result it offers a true spring rate throughout the travel as the spring does not bind.

Product Sales

The first batch of titanium springs; performance adapters and bearings have just arrived to the K-9 Industries head quarter. The springs have a unique finish and distinctive look that defines quality; the fit of the springs, performance adapters and bearings for the Double Barrel, Stoy, Vivid and DHX dampers are very precise. They are also extremely light: the springs are on average between 50-80 grams lighter than RCS titanium springs of equal spring rates.

Obtainium Performance Products were displayed for the first time at the National Champs on 18th-19th of July at Innerleithen, at the K-9 Industries stand.

Obtainium performance products are now available for purchase to OE, retailers and general customers

Marzocchi 888 Recall

February 16 2009 No Commented

Marzocchi has issued a recall for 2008 Marzocchi 888RC3 and RC3WC (both medium and hard spring) forks with the product codes 9082001S, 9081901S and 9081902S.

This affects 70 forks worldwide and has been traced to a batch manufactured in July, August and September of 2007.

“Marzocchi has learned that after a forceful landing, the suspension system can become completely compressed and bottom out. The piston rod may collapse under the load of the landing. The collapsed piston rod prevents the suspension system from extending and returning to its original configuration. The fork spring will remain compressed inside the fork leg.”

If you have them and are in the UK you should contact their importer WindWave HERE
