“No matter what level of rider you are, this trail will be a challenge. Actually no matter how many times you have ridden this trail, you will be challenged on each lap. This is a super fun trail which starts just off the main access road and finishes on the same access road just below another trail to take you further down the mountain. The trail takes a person about five minutes at race pace. Worth the shuttle for sure. The trail builders have decided to name this trail Rockasaurous Rex which is a name well deserved, once you have ridden it you will agree with the name.”
“Now it is time to talk about my favorite trail of all time. Every time we ride this trail you can’t get the smile off of our faces. This is the trail that we call the DH trail. This is the trail that got me hooked on the DH side of mountain biking. There used to be local downhill races held on this trail, so it is very well ridden. It is a trail that we have ridden hundreds of times for sure. It starts just a bit lower on the left hand side of the same access road as Rockasaurous Rex. This trail was originally built by a local pro DH racer Rob Hewitt. He designed this trail for training for World Cups. I think he did an amazing job, combining crazy technical sections with pedal sections and all out fun sections. Every time a person rides this one, you just want to get right back up to the top and pin it again. It is one of those trails where the faster you go the smoother it gets. It really does make you ride it faster and faster every time. No matter what you will be stoked to ride this one.”

Les Lindarets lift down to the Chatel Burger Bar. Flowing track with lots of man made, multi-sized, jumps and berms.
Portes Du Soleil 09 – Chatel “Fluid” from Antony Bailey on Vimeo.
The “Fluid” track (top section missing) from the famous Chatel Burger Bar to the lift at the bottom by the pump track. One of the sections in the Chatel Freeride Park.
Not ridden with very much ‘fluidity’ I hasten to add.

The “Puncture Alley” run from the top of the Chatel lift down into Les Lindarets lives up to its name!

Afan MTB Trip June ‘09 from Antony Bailey on Vimeo.
Ant & Mike of TamedEarth.com on our first trip to the MTB centres in the South Wales Afan Forest Park.
Two trails – “The Wall” and “Whites Level”. We only filmed the down as each had a greulling 500 meter plus climb at the beginning.
The camera batteries ran out only a third of the way down on day two at White’s… a real shame!
Next time.
Goldstein Productions much anticipated new DVD “On The Line”:
The Woodland Riders is a Downhill only mountain bike club based near Tavistock in the South West of Devon.
The Club was formed in 2005 as a way to raise the money needed to pay the landowner the rent, which would allow us to legally ride in the area.
The money raised from the membership fees also goes towards insurance and affiliation with the British Cycling Federation.
On the 11th April Gawton Woods was finally opened, this is a video documenting the events of that day…
