More BOS Deville Info

Sources: Dirt/Mpora/BOS

From BOS:

Deville is the very first enduro fork produced by Bos. It has been developped with Nicolas Vouilloz in order to get a very accurate fork for tall the enduro riders. Our R&D depatrment have been mainly focused on three axles : getting a lightweight fork, quite stiff, and efficient in downhill, but also when it’s time to climb! (continued below)

Price : £1100.00 TBC

…You get the result now, and Nico , as well as the other lucky guys who could ride it, feel really enthousiasts about its behaviour. Deville is remarquable bty its dimensions : 34mm stanchions and 160 mm travel : a package that brings a good balance between stifness and reasonnable weight. By the way, Deville is one of the lightest 160 mm forks available. But Deville, as a true Bos fork, also features a very good hydraulic system, based on an openned bath cartridge, fully adjustable. This should bring a good chassis control ! And for the pedaling efficincy, Deville inn ovates with the TRC, for Twin Rate Curve. Tjis system does not block the fork, and does not change the geometry of the bike. It brings a new rate curve, on the spring side, allowing the fork to be efficent on small bumps, but it reduces the travel by icreasing the rate very quickly. In case of big hit unexpected, the fork still works. This system is incredibly efficient once on the track, as noticed by Nico Vouilloz. it also allows to keep a high front end in downhill, on a soft ground, with many tight curves, according to Nico, who decided to use it in this kind of situation.

Afan Trip May 2010

June 4 2010 No Commented

The video of our recent trip to Afan in Wales. This is the long version (37 mins) for us riders. It contains 90% of the downhill/trial sections of “Y Wall” and “White’s Level”. Probably pretty boring for non riders. Worth a skip through though. Next time we need trail side camera men for the 3rd person shots!

Updated: Sam Hill FtBill WC Crash

From: Dirt Magazine | http://dirt.mpora.com/news/sam-hill-fort-william-smash.html

June 4th, 2010 @ 5:56 PM

Sam Hill had a massive crash during official timed practise today at Fort William.

From the gondola I saw Hill slumped on the grass looking very shaken near the fast rocky drop/left hander a few corners up from the entry to the woods.

The latest news is that he has been to the local hospital for xrays to his shoulder.

Team mate Brendan Fairclough said “Sam doesn’t normally moan about injuries but he was looking pretty bad”

Healing vibes out to Hill and hope he’s back in the saddle for Sundays final.

e*thirteen & Hive release cranks

May 27 2010 No Commented

e*thirteen have merged with Hive, putting their name to the super light DH cranks you see below. Available at the end of July, check out the press release and ALL the details below:

DH Crank Ethirteen by the Hive620 e*thirteen DH cranks

Petaluma, CA and Leominster, MA

The Hive proudly announces a merger with chain retention manufacturer e*thirteen. Independently, both companies are dedicated to designing and manufacturing industry-shaping cycling components. Together, we’ll build on our shared philosophy of strong engineering principles and quality manufacturing to deliver even greater innovation to a discerning customer base. Neither company would exist without loyal customers and industry families, so we thank you for being an integral part of our progress and inspiration. In the near future, we’ll be revealing several new products to be released under a shared brand. In an effort to get you back on the bike instead of in front of the computer, we’ll keep this short and sweet: e*thirteen is integrating into the Hive, replacing the Fifteen.G Offroad product phylum. Current Fifteen.G cranks will be re-branded as e*thirteen and we’ll soon have additional product offerings under the e*thirteen offroad phylum–both gravity and XC. From here on, the Hive consists of e*thirteen Offroad, Chub Wheelgoods, and Revl Road. Since we all love to ride anything with two wheels, we are happy to offer groundbreaking products for all categories.

More details about the merger can be found on www.e13bythehive.com, an informative website specifically set up to provide the details of the merger.

Details about the new DH crank are as follows:

World Cup Round 1 – Maribor

May 18 2010 No Commented

The rain slowed up and riding sped up as Finals kicked off here in Maribor. Rachel Atherton returned to her winning ways with a convincing 10 second margin over Sabrina Jonnier in second even after breaking her finger only one week earlier. A lot of riders came off trying to make the podium including top qualifier Sam Hill, but Gee Atherton stayed on and posted a great time only to be beaten by just 0.25 seconds by race winner Greg Minnaar. Great results for British riders Brendan Fairclough in 3rd and Joe Smith in 8th.
