I have switched to the Contour HD 1080p now. Simple, easy to set up, lasers rock - not just for alignment but you can use them to line up blind of helmet shoots, the mount kits arent 'cheap' either but they work very well. Just make sure you buy the right kit for you needs up front. I bought the 1.5 version, and also got an extensive "mount" kit with it, but the tripod mount, which is all I can find that will suit my mounting needs, is not in the "kit" I got with the system. Now, I discover that, to get a tripod mount, apparently I must buy another extensive mount "kit" which does contain a tripod mount, but which also contains duplicates of a multiplicity of other mounts I already own, and will probably never use. I'm actually considering the VHoldR 1080p camera now, for which there is a $20USD "universal mount" that has the female threading I need to fit it onto my suction cut mount. 1080p ain't bad, eh, what? “Ants’” comment is spot on. This means that if you damage the cable, you will be required to replace both camera head and cable (over £100!). This also references when applied in reverse. This somewhat compromises the new 'improved' design. I would surmise that this was a cost cutting exercise and polished over with a trendy looking new anodised paint job. In addition to this, virtually all of the really useful mounts have been replaced with poor equivalents and more importantly now no longer has the tripod thread c-clamp. This has to be purchased in a new mount pack estimated between £40-£50. I am sure that as you are now aware of this, actually, the original version of this system is actually the better version!
