EVS G5 looks to be the new best. Currently out of stock till this week. I tried the “X” brand (Fox) in the article. Not enough protection. What you think is armor on the side arms and chest is really just fabric. Spine protector is good though.

The G5 however you can see offers higher up protection for the collar area including the trapezius muscles. Also I got hockey pants for hip and kidney protection (HARD plastic over padding). None of this weak football or other padding.

Forget the G5. The marketing dept. put their foot in their mouth before the final production product came out. It looks exactly the same as the BJ 22/33 series, just with a G5 logo and a slightly different lower spine protector. Bleh. They couldn’t give me any explanation on why they scrapped the new design and went with the old one again. Didn’t like the elbow guards either.

For what it’s worth, you’re better off piecing together a custom suit. Go with a KNOX Warrior chest/arm/spine guard (BC9-Leatt compatible), then your choice of elbow guard/kidney belt.

I just got an alpine stars jacket for my trip to the Alps. whilst I am huge and it doesn’t fit me perfectly, it did perform incredibly well and managed to be pretty comfortable at the same time! its well thought out and very strong. I can highly recommend it. ant
